DOC, SCR, ASC Ceramic Substrate(monolith catalyst support) used in DOC, SCR, ASC catalyst conveter for diesel-powered engine exhaust after-treatment system.
The diesel-powered engine usually used in passage car, bus, LD-truck(light duty truck), HD-truk(Heavy duty truck), on-highway, off-highway and stationary powered.

The ceramic substrate(monolith catalyst support) was R&D and produced by Corning company around 1970s and started to be used for engine exhaust after treatment system around 1975s.
The material of the ceramic substrate(monolith catalyst support) is Cordierite, 2MgO•2Al2O3•5SiO2, which has a low coefficient of thermal expansion
Each monolith contains thousands of parallel channels or holes, which are defined by many thin walls, in a honeycomb structure.
The hole density usually from 400 to 600cpsi, wall thickness usually from 0.17mm to 0.09mm.
The many small holes have a much larger surface area, The High surface area facilitates catalytic reaction or filtration.
The open spaces in the cross-sectional area are 72 to 87% of the frontal area, so resistance to the flow of gases through the holes is low, which minimizes energy consumed forcing gases through the structure.
The monolith catalyst support is a ceramic substrate that supports a catalyst. The catalyst raw material include Rare Earth, Alumina, Platinum Group Matal(PGM, most commonly platinum, palladium, and/or rhodium), Cu-Zeolite, Fe-Zeolite and so on coated on the wall surface of the holes
